“A Western Breakfast”
“A Western Breakfast”
My goal of this piece was to create the scene of a Western breakfast table. The nails and bullet represent the hard work of a rancher whereas the glass and porcelain represent the simple amenities that ranch families had in their homes. After analyzing all the materials used in this piece, maybe you can create your own story as to what was happening that day or during that time period.
This piece takes the viewer through a scene of a Western breakfast. In the bottom left corner of the piece, there are fragments of old dishware set from a 1850’s homestead in Southern, Colorado. The two nails, bullet, and bone are from the homestead’s structure as well. In the bottom left corner, there is a piece of glass with a flower imprint on it which was found in Quantico, MD from another dishware set (1860’s). The rest of the pieces are from the 1950’s in Magdalena, New Mexico.
